Can My Parents See What I Search on WiFi?
Short answer: they can see which websites you visited, but not exactly what you searched or typed. Here's what the router actually logs.

What the router can see
Your home router logs the domain names of every site you visit — for example reddit.com, youtube.com. This is in the router's DNS log or traffic log.

2
What it can't see
On sites using HTTPS (the padlock in the browser), the router can see the domain but not the specific pages, search terms, or anything you typed. All that is encrypted.

How to check what your router logs
Log into the router admin panel (open your gateway IP, e.g.
http://192.168.1.1) and look for Logs, Traffic Monitor, or DNS History. Not all routers have this. -

What else could reveal your activity
The ISP can see domain-level traffic too. Devices also have local browser history — that's separate from the router and visible on the device itself.

How to get more privacy
A VPN encrypts all traffic between your device and the VPN server, hiding domain names from the router and ISP. Browsing in private/incognito mode clears local history but does not hide traffic from the router.
