How to Hide Your WiFi Network (SSID)
Hiding your WiFi SSID stops it from appearing in neighbour's device lists. It adds a minor layer of obscurity but is not a replacement for a strong password.

Go to Wireless, WiFi, or WLAN settings.
-
3

After hiding the SSID, your devices won't see it automatically. On each device, choose Add a hidden network or Other Network and type the SSID and password manually.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does hiding the SSID really improve security?
Only marginally. A hidden network is still visible to anyone using a WiFi scanner — they just won't see the name by default. A strong WPA3/WPA2 password matters far more.
Why might I still want to hide my SSID?
To reduce clutter for neighbours and casual users. It also prevents people from being tempted to try connecting in the first place.
