1
Get the device's MAC address
Find it in your router's connected devices list, or on the device itself under Settings → About → WiFi. It looks like
AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF. -
2
Log in to the router admin panel
Open your gateway IP and sign in.
-
3
Open MAC filtering or block list
Look for MAC Filtering, Access Control, or Parental Controls in the menu.
-
4
Add the device and block it
Enter the MAC address and set the rule to Block or Deny. Save the rule.
-
5
Alternatively, change your WiFi password
This disconnects every device at once. Only re-connect the devices you want to allow.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a blocked device bypass MAC filtering?
Yes — MAC addresses can be spoofed. For stronger security, combine MAC filtering with a strong WPA3/WPA2 password and a guest network for untrusted devices.
Does blocking a device also block it from the guest network?
Only if you add the block rule to both networks. Each network has its own MAC filter list on most routers.
